It states that the ultimate fruit of listening to this Purāṇa is brahma-jñāna—liberating realization—placing Purāṇa-śravaṇa on the level of a direct spiritual sādhanā leading toward mokṣa.
By presenting “hearing” (śravaṇa) as spiritually transformative, it aligns with bhakti-sādhanā where attentive listening to sacred narration purifies the mind and culminates in higher realization (brahmajñāna).
The verse highlights the disciplined practice of śravaṇa (scriptural listening) and the Purāṇic anukramaṇikā method of classifying texts (here, as Āgneya), rather than a specific Vedāṅga like vyākaraṇa or jyotiṣa.
