FAQs

This verse functions as an index-like topic marker, highlighting the salvific power of Rāma’s hundred names, their māhātmya (spiritual greatness), and the doctrinal conclusion of Viṣṇu’s supreme vaibhava (divine majesty).

By foregrounding “Rāmanāmaśata,” it points to nāma-japa and nāma-smaraṇa as a primary bhakti-sādhana—devotion practiced through repeated remembrance and recitation of the Lord’s names, culminating in reverence for Viṣṇu’s glory.

No specific Vedāṅga technique is taught in this single line; rather, it signals a purāṇic method of instruction—topic cataloging (anukramaṇikā) that organizes dharma and bhakti materials for study and recitation.
