Narada (teaching in dialogue, traditionally to the Sanatkumara brothers)
Vrata: Mahādvādaśī
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It elevates Mahādvādaśī as a supreme vrata whose merit is said to equal the results of all Vedic sacrifices, while also emphasizing inner purification through the removal of sins.
By praising Mahādvādaśī as highly efficacious, the verse frames disciplined observance (vrata) as a concrete expression of devotion—typically oriented toward Bhagavān (often Vishnu in such contexts)—that yields both spiritual cleansing and auspicious outcomes.
Ritual practice is foregrounded through the term kratu (sacrifice), pointing to Kalpa/Vedic ritual discipline: the Purana presents vrata-observance as a practical dharmic regimen with defined results (phala).
