padmanābhaṃ samabhyarcya bhūdevānbhojayetsudhīḥ | visṛjya dakṣiṇāṃ datvā tāṃstato'śnīta ca svayam || 43 ||
Narada (teaching in the Narada Purana’s instructional dialogue, traditionally to the Sanatkumara tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It frames worship as complete only when devotion (Viṣṇu-arcana) is followed by service and generosity—feeding Bhūdevas and giving dakṣiṇā—turning personal piety into dharmic action.
Bhakti is shown as reverence to Padmanābha expressed through respectful conduct toward Brahmins and charitable giving; the devotee eats only after honoring God and God’s representatives through service.
It highlights kalpa/prayoga-style ritual sequencing: arcana (worship) → brāhmaṇa-bhojana (feeding) → dakṣiṇā (honorarium) → visarjana (formal send-off) → then the yajamāna eats, reflecting correct procedural order.
