Sanatana (Sanatkumara brother)
Vrata: Saptamī-vrata (Sūrya-oriented; general introduction)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It introduces the Saptamī-vratas and states their phala (result): when performed with bhakti, they lead to sūrya-sāyujya—an exalted devotional attainment connected with the Sun-deity.
The verse explicitly makes devotion (bhaktyā) the decisive factor: the same ritual vow becomes spiritually transformative when done as an act of reverent worship rather than mere formalism.
It points to calendrical/ritual timing—observance on Saptamī (a tithi of the lunar month), aligning with Jyotiṣa-based scheduling used in vrata and pūjā practices.
