Sanatkumara (addressing Narada)
Vrata: Tṛtīyā-vrata (general for all Tṛtīyās)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It standardizes the core components of a Tṛtīyā-day observance—Devī worship, honoring brāhmaṇas, charity, homa, and proper closure—showing that sincerity, generosity, and correct completion are central to ritual merit.
Bhakti is expressed through Devī-pūjā and respectful service to the learned (vipra-pūjā), while dāna and homa externalize devotion into self-giving and sacred offering, culminating in visarjana—closing worship with reverence rather than abruptness.
It relies on calendrical ritual timing (tithi-based observance—linked to Jyotiṣa/Vedāṅga) and outlines key elements of śrauta/smārta procedure such as homa and formal visarjana (prayoga/ritual application).
