Narada (teaching in the Narada Purana dialogue context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It states the universal supports of vrata: self-restraint (brahmacarya) and purity of intake (haviṣyānna), which stabilize the mind and make the vow spiritually effective.
Bhakti is strengthened by śauca (purity) and niyama (discipline); continence and a simple, sanctified diet reduce distraction and support steady remembrance and worship.
It highlights ritual praxis (kalpa-style vrata rules): standard behavioral restraint and a prescribed food category (haviṣyānna) used across observances.
