It teaches that śāstra-dāna (gifting sacred text) is a high form of dāna; writing and donating the Purāṇa at an auspicious time like the viṣuva yields great merit culminating in heavenly attainment.
By honoring the Purāṇa through copying and gifting it to a qualified brāhmaṇa, the devotee supports the preservation and transmission of sacred narratives and dharma—an indirect but powerful service (sevā) that nourishes bhakti in society.
The timing instruction “viṣuve” reflects Jyotiṣa (Vedic astronomy/astrology) used to select auspicious calendrical moments for dāna and ritual merit.
