It signals that the Purāṇa teaches dharma not only through devotion and philosophy, but also through historical prophecy (future kings), ethical practice (great charity), and cosmic perspective (kalpas), integrating conduct with a long view of time.
Indirectly: by listing mahā-dānas and purāṇic themes, it frames bhakti as lived dharma—devotion expressed through generosity and righteous life within the larger order of cosmic cycles.
The mention of kalpas points to purāṇic time-reckoning and calendrical/cosmological computation, which connects practically with Jyotiṣa-style chronology used for understanding eras and ritual timing.
