พระพรหมตรัสว่า “ดูก่อนบุตรเอ๋ย จงฟัง เราจักกล่าวปุราณะที่มีนามว่า สกันทปุราณะ ซึ่งในทุกถ้อยคำมีพระมหาเทวะประทับอยู่โดยตรง” ॥๑॥
