This verse introduces the Brahma-vaivartaka as the “tenth Purāṇa” and frames Purāṇic narration as a guide that clarifies the Vedic path, affirming Purāṇas as practical expositions of Vedic dharma.
While bhakti is not named explicitly here, calling the Purāṇa “veda-mārgānudarśaka” implies it translates Vedic principles into accessible teachings—often expressed in Purāṇas through devotion, worship, and dharma-oriented practice.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is detailed in this verse; the practical takeaway is the methodological claim that Purāṇic instruction serves as an interpretive guide to the Vedic mārga.
