Adhyaya 92 — Devi’s Assurance of Protection and the Fruits of Reciting the Devi Mahatmyam
तयैतन्मोह्यते विश्वं सैव विश्वं प्रसूयते ।
सा याचिता च विज्ञानं तुष्टा ऋद्धिं प्रयच्छति ॥
tayaitanmohyate viśvaṃ saiva viśvaṃ prasūyate / sā yācitā ca vijñānaṃ tuṣṭā ṛddhiṃ prayacchati
ด้วยพระนางนี้เอง สรรพจักรวาลทั้งปวงจึงถูกลวงให้หลง และพระนางเองทรงให้กำเนิดจักรวาล; เมื่อมีผู้ทูลขอ พระนางประทานญาณ; เมื่อทรงพอพระทัย พระนางประทานศรีและความรุ่งเรือง
The same ultimate power is both the cause of bondage (moha) and the giver of liberation-oriented clarity (vijñāna). Ethically, it encourages devotion and right petition: seek discernment, not merely gains; prosperity is framed as a grace that follows harmony (tuṣṭā).
Sarga (origination) is explicit—she ‘brings forth the universe’; Sthiti is implied by her governance; Pralaya is not stated here but is part of the larger Devī theology in this section.
Moha and vijñāna are two modalities of the same śakti: when consciousness identifies with names/forms it is ‘deluded’; when it turns toward its source, the same power becomes discriminative wisdom.
