आत्मानं मन्यते चोर्वोṃ तद्गन्धञ्च जहाति सः ।

यथैवाप्सु रसं सूक्ष्मं तद्वद्रूपञ्च तेजसि ॥

ātmānaṃ manyate corvoṃ tadgandhañca jahāti saḥ | yathaivāpsu rasaṃ sūkṣmaṃ tadvadrūpañca tejasi ||

ต่อมาเขาพิจารณาตนว่าละเอียดกว่าธาตุดิน แล้วละทิ้งคุณแห่งกลิ่นของดิน ดังที่รสเป็นคุณอันละเอียดในน้ำ ฉันใด รูปก็เป็นคุณอันละเอียดในไฟฉันนั้น
