Adhyaya 38 — Dattatreya on Non-Identification (Mamata) and the Path to Liberation
धनधान्यमहापत्रो नैककालप्रवर्धितः ।
पुण्यापुण्याग्रपुष्पश्च सुखदुःखमहाफलः ॥
dhanadhānyamahāpatro naikakālapravardhitaḥ |
puṇyāpuṇyāgrapuṣpaśca sukhaduḥkhamahāphalaḥ ||
ใบใหญ่ของมันคือทรัพย์และธัญญาหารที่งอกงามผ่านหลายฤดูกาล. ดอกที่ปลายกิ่งคือบุญและบาป และผลอันใหญ่คือสุขและทุกข์.

Even ‘good outcomes’ (wealth, merit) remain within the same tree of appropriation if rooted in ego; they mature into alternating pleasure and pain.

Merit and demerit are shown as blossoms on the same structure of doership/ownership; transcendence requires stepping beyond the entire karmic arbor, not optimizing its fruits.
