किंनु शोचामि तनयं किंनु शोचाम्यहं स्नुषाम् ।

विमृश्य कृतकृत्यत्वाम्नम्येऽशोच्यावुभावपि ॥

kinnu śocāmi tanayaṃ kinnu śocāmy ahaṃ snuṣām /

vimṛśya kṛtakṛtyatvām namye 'śocyāv ubhāv api

เราจะโศกเศร้าเพื่อผู้ใด—เพื่อบุตรหรือเพื่อบุตรสะใภ้? เมื่อพิจารณาแล้ว เราขอนอบน้อมต่อสัจจะว่า ทั้งสองได้ทำกิจที่พึงทำครบแล้ว จึงไม่ควรโศกา

Death is not automatically a cause for debilitating grief when a life has been lived in dharma. The ‘kṛtakṛtya’ standard reframes mourning into reverence and acceptance.
