अपश्यमेनं श्रीमन्तं मत्स्यं भ्राजिष्णुमुत्तमम्‌ । विराटमुपतिष्ठ न्तं दर्शयन्तं च वाजिन:,मैंने शोभासम्पन्न, तेजस्वी तथा उत्तम रूपवाले नकुलको अपनी आँखों देखा है। वह मत्स्यनरेश विराटको भाँति-भाँतिके घोड़े दिखाता और उनकी सेवामें खड़ा रहता है

apaśyam enaṁ śrīmantaṁ matsyaṁ bhrājiṣṇum uttamam | virāṭam upatiṣṭhantaṁ darśayantaṁ ca vājinaḥ ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ข้าได้เห็นเขา—ผู้รุ่งเรืองผ่องใส เป็นยอดแห่งชาวมัตสยะ—ยืนเฝ้ารับใช้พระเจ้าวิราฏะ และแสดงม้าทั้งหลายให้ทอดพระเนตรด้วยวิธีต่าง ๆ”
