स सूतो भार्यया सार्थ विम्मयोत्फुल्ललोचन: । अड्कमारोप्य तं बालं भारया वचनमब्रवीत्,उसे देखकर पत्नीसहित सूतके नेत्रकमल आश्चर्य एवं प्रसन्नतासे खिल उठे। उसने बालकको गोदमें लेकर अपनी पत्नीसे कहा--
sa sūto bhāryayā sārthaṁ vismayotphullalocanaḥ | aṅkam āropya taṁ bālaṁ bhāryāyā vacanam abravīt ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—เมื่อเห็นเด็กนั้น สารถีผู้มาพร้อมภรรยาก็มีดวงตาดุจดอกบัวเบิกบานด้วยความพิศวงและยินดี เขาอุ้มเด็กขึ้นวางบนตัก แล้วกล่าวกับภรรยา
