Kuntī’s concealed childbirth and the river-borne casket
रथेनाभिपपाताथ दशग्रीवं रुषान्वित: । 'महाद्युते! आप शीघ्र इन्द्रके इस रथपर आरूढ़ होइये।” तब श्रीरामचन्द्रजीने प्रसन्नतापूर्वक विभीषणसे कहा--'ठीक है।' यों कहकर उन्होंने रथपर आरूढ़ हो बड़े रोषके साथ दशमुख रावणपर आक्रमण किया ।। हाहाकृतानि भूतानि रावणे समभिद्रुते,रावणपर श्रीरामकी चढ़ाई होते ही समस्त प्राणी हाहाकार कर उठे, देवलोकमें नगारे बज उठे और जोर-जोरसे सिंहनाद होने लगा। दशकन्धर रावण तथा राजकुमार श्रीराममें उस समय महान् युद्ध छिड़ गया
rathenābhipapātātha daśagrīvaṁ ruṣānvitaḥ | mahādyute āśu indrake’smin rathapar ārūḍho bhava iti | tataḥ śrīrāmacandraḥ prasannatā-pūrvakaṁ vibhīṣaṇaṁ uvāca—ṭhīk hai iti | ity uktvā sa ratham ārūḍhaḥ mahāroṣeṇa daśamukha-rāvaṇam abhyapatat || hāhākṛtāni bhūtāni rāvaṇe samabhidru te | rāvaṇe śrīrāmasya cāḍhāyāṁ sarvāṇi prāṇinaḥ hāhākāraṁ cakruḥ, devaloke bherī-nādā abhavan, uccaiḥ siṁhanādāś ca || daśakandhara-rāvaṇayoḥ rājaputra-śrīrāmayor tadā mahān yuddhaḥ samapadyata ||

मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The passage frames battle as morally charged: righteous resolve (Rāma) confronts oppressive power (Rāvaṇa). Even when anger is present, it is directed toward restoring dharma, and the cosmos itself—through omens and sounds in Devaloka—appears to witness the ethical weight of the conflict.
Mārkaṇḍeya narrates Rāma mounting a chariot (with Vibhīṣaṇa’s involvement) and launching a direct assault on Rāvaṇa. The moment Rāma charges, beings cry out, divine war-drums and lion-roars resound, and a great duel begins between Rāma and Rāvaṇa.
