Rāvaṇa–Mārīca Dialogue and the Decoy-Deer Prelude to Sītā’s Abduction

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the distinctive, imperishable enjoyments associated with Svarga—symbols of merit’s reward—where beauty and fragrance do not decay, and celestial conveyances are naturally available to its residents.

A divine messenger describes features of heavenly life to a Brāhmaṇa: garlands there never fade and constantly emit divine fragrance, and the inhabitants of Svarga possess wondrous vimānas.
