स्कन्दोपाख्यानम् — उत्पातशान्तिः, स्वाहारूपविचारः, कौमारमङ्गलक्रियाः

पितु: पितामहा ये च तथैव प्रपितामहा: । प्रीतास्ते सततं पुत्र दमेनावां च पूजया,वत्स! मेरे पिताके पितामह और प्रपितामह आदि सभी तुम्हारे इन्द्रियसंयमसे सदा प्रसन्न रहते हैं। हम दोनों भी तुम्हारे द्वारा की हुई पूजा-सेवासे बहुत संतुष्ट हैं

pituḥ pitāmahā ye ca tathaiva prapitāmahāḥ | prītās te satataṃ putra damenāvāṃ ca pūjayā |

มารกัณฑยะกล่าวว่า “โอ้บุตร ปู่ทวดและบรรพชนฝ่ายบิดาของเจ้า ล้วนยินดีอยู่เสมอด้วยการสำรวมอินทรีย์ของเจ้า และเราทั้งสองก็พึงพอใจยิ่งด้วยการบูชาและการปรนนิบัติที่เจ้าถวายด้วยความเคารพ”
