मृषा वाद परिहरेत्‌ कुर्यात्‌ प्रियमयाचित: । न च कामाज्न संरम्भान्न द्वेषाद्‌ धर्ममुत्सूजेत्‌,झूठ बोलना छोड़ दे, बिना कहे ही दूसरोंका प्रिय करे, काम, क्रोध तथा द्वेषसे भी कभी धर्मका परित्याग न करे

mṛṣā-vādaṁ pariharet kuryāt priyam ayācitaḥ | na ca kāmāj na saṁrambhān na dveṣād dharmam utsṛjet ||

นายพรานกล่าวว่า: “พึงละวาจาเท็จ. แม้มิได้ถูกขอ ก็พึงทำสิ่งที่เป็นที่พอใจและเป็นประโยชน์แก่ผู้อื่น. และอย่าละทิ้งธรรมไม่ว่าเพราะความใคร่ เพราะความโกรธอันพลุ่งพล่านและความว้าวุ่น หรือเพราะความชัง.”
