Nārāyaṇopadeśa to Mārkaṇḍeya (Cosmic Self-Identification and Yuga Doctrine) | नारायणोपदेशः

सरस्वत्युवाच त॑ वै परं वेदविदः प्रपन्ना: परं परेभ्य: प्रथितं पुराणम्‌ । स्वाध्यायवन्तो व्रतपुण्ययोगै- स्तपोधना वीतशोका विमुक्ता:,सरस्वती बोली--स्वाध्यायरूप योगमें लगे हुए तथा तपको ही धन माननेवाले योगी व्रत-पुण्य और योगके साधनोंसे जिस प्रख्यात, परात्पर एवं पुरातन पदको प्राप्तकर शोकरहित तथा मुक्त हो जाते हैं, वही सनातन ब्रह्मपद है। वेदवेत्ता उसी परमपदका आश्रय लेते हैं

Sarasvaty uvāca: taṁ vai paraṁ vedavidaḥ prapannāḥ paraṁ parebhyaḥ prathitaṁ purāṇam | svādhyāyavanto vratapuṇyayogais tapodhanā vītaśokā vimuktāḥ ||

สรัสวตีกล่าวว่า “สภาวะสูงสุดนั้น—เก่าแก่และเลื่องลือ ยิ่งกว่าสิ่งใดที่เรียกว่า ‘สูงกว่า’—เป็นที่พึ่งของผู้รู้พระเวท ผู้ตั้งมั่นในสวาธยายะ เห็นตบะเป็นทรัพย์แท้ และฝึกตนด้วยพรต บุญกุศล และวิถีโยคะ ย่อมบรรลุเป้าหมายอันสูงสุดอันเลื่องลือนั้น; ครั้นถึงแล้วก็พ้นโศกและได้วิมุตติ”
