अश्वमेधसहस््रं च प्राप्य धर्मभृतां वर: । अन्यैश्न क्रतुभिर्मुख्यैरयजत् स्वाप्तदक्षिणै:,वे धर्मात्माओंमें श्रेष्ठ थे। उन्होंने एक सहस्र अश्वमेधयज्ञ पूर्ण करके बहुत दक्षिणाके साथ दूसरे-दूसरे श्रेष्ठ यज्ञोंद्वारा भी भगवानकी आराधना की
aśvamedha-sahasraṃ ca prāpya dharma-bhṛtāṃ varaḥ | anyaiś ca kratubhir mukhyair ayajat svāpta-dakṣiṇaiḥ ||
พระองค์ผู้เป็นเลิศในหมู่ผู้ทรงธรรม ได้ทรงประกอบอัศวเมธถึงหนึ่งพันครั้งสำเร็จบริบูรณ์ และยังทรงประกอบพิธีกรรมสำคัญอื่น ๆ อีก โดยถวายทานและบำเหน็จให้ครบถ้วนตามธรรมเนียม
