Educational Q&A

The verse highlights an ideal of kingship in which moral steadfastness (dharma-nityatā) and wise governance make authority effective: conquest is achieved not primarily by violence but by the legitimacy and discipline embodied in righteous command.

Lomaśa describes a remarkable ruler whose reputation and righteous rule are so compelling that the entire world—oceans, resource-regions, and cities—comes under his control in a single day, simply through his order.
