युधिछिर उवाच उपस्पृश्येह विधिवदस्यां नद्यां तपोबलात्‌ । मानुषादस्मि विषयादपेत: पश्य लोमश,उस समय युधिष्ठिर बोले--लोमशजी! देखिये, इस वैतरणी नदीमें विधिपूर्वक स्नान करनेसे मुझे तपोबल प्राप्त हुआ है, जिसके प्रभावसे मैं मानवीय विषयोंसे दूर हो गया हूँ

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | upaspṛśyeha vidhivad asyāṁ nadyāṁ tapobalāt | mānuṣād asmi viṣayād apetaḥ paśya lomaśa ||

ยุธิษฐิระกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่โลมศะ! เมื่อข้าพเจ้าได้ชำระกายตามพิธีในแม่น้ำนี้แล้ว ก็ได้บังเกิดกำลังแห่งตบะ; ด้วยอานุภาพนั้น ข้าพเจ้าห่างไกลจากอารมณ์แห่งกามคุณของมนุษย์แล้ว จงดูเถิด”
