ततः स पशुमुत्सृज्य देवयानेन जग्मिवान्‌ । तत्रानुवंशो रुद्रस्य तं निबोध युधिछिर,तब वे उस पशुको वहीं छोड़कर देवयान मार्गसे चले गये। युधिष्ठिर! यज्ञमें भगवान्‌ रुद्रकी भागपरम्पराका बोधक एक श्लोक है, उसे बताता हूँ, सुनो--

tataḥ sa paśum utsṛjya devayānena jagmivān | tatrānuvaṁśo rudrasya taṁ nibodha yudhiṣṭhira ||

แล้วเขาปล่อยสัตว์นั้นไว้ ณ ที่นั้น และดำเนินไปตามหนทางเทวยานะ (Devayāna) โอ ยุธิษฐิระ บัดนี้เราจักกล่าวถึงสืบสายแห่งส่วนแบ่งของพระรุทระในยัญพิธี จงฟังและจงเข้าใจให้ถ่องแท้
