यदा रथे गाण्डिवं वासुदेवं दिव्यं शडुखं पाउ्चजन्यं हयांश्न । तूणावक्षय्यौ देवदत्तं च मां च द्रष्टा युद्धे धार्तराष्ट्रोडन्वतप्स्यत्
yadā rathe gāṇḍīvaṃ vāsudevaṃ divyaṃ śaṅkhaṃ pāñcajanyaṃ hayāṃś ca | tūṇāv akṣayyau devadattaṃ ca māṃ ca draṣṭā yuddhe dhārtarāṣṭro ’nutapsyate ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า “เมื่อในสนามรบ โอรสแห่งธฤตราษฏร์ได้เห็นบนรถศึก—คันธนูกาณฑีวะของเรา วาสุเทวะเป็นสารถี สังข์ทิพย์ปาญจชันยะ ม้าทิพย์เทียมรถ ทูณีร์สองใบอันไม่สิ้นซึ่งเต็มด้วยศร สังข์เดวทัตของเรา และตัวเราเอง—ครั้นนั้น เมื่อคาดหมายผลแห่งสงคราม เขาจะถูกครอบงำด้วยความสำนึกผิดอันแผดเผาและความระทม”
