आर्तस्वरं हन्यमानं हतं च विकीर्णकेशास्थिकपालसंघम् । प्रजापते: कर्म यथार्थनिश्ितं तदा दृष्टवा तप्स्यति मन्दबुद्धि:
ārtasvaraṃ hanyamānaṃ hataṃ ca vikīrṇakeśāsthikapālasaṅgham | prajāpateḥ karma yathārthaniścitaṃ tadā dṛṣṭvā tapsyati mandabuddhiḥ ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า “ครั้นนั้น ทุรโยธน์ผู้ปัญญาทึบจะร้อนรุ่มด้วยความสำนึกผิด เมื่อเห็นสนามรบ—เสียงคร่ำครวญอันแสนสาหัส บ้างกำลังถูกสังหาร บ้างถูกสังหารแล้วนอนแน่นิ่ง; กองผม กระดูก และกะโหลกกระจัดกระจายทั่วทุกทิศ เห็นทุกสิ่งดำเนินไปประหนึ่งเป็นกิจของพระผู้สร้างที่กำหนดไว้จริงและแน่นอน เขาจะไหม้เกรียมอยู่ภายในด้วยความเสียใจ”
