Gālava’s Despair and Resolve to Seek Viṣṇu
anujñāto mayā vatsa yatheṣṭaṃ gaccha gālava | ity uktaḥ pratyuvācedaṃ gālavo munisattamam ||
The verse highlights ethical propriety in relationships: a respected elder grants permission with affection (“vatsa”), and the younger responds with due respect. It models dharmic communication—authority exercised gently and freedom granted responsibly.
Nārada gives Gālava leave to depart and act according to his wish. The verse then signals the next narrative move: Gālava is about to respond to the sage, continuing the dialogue.
