Gālava’s Despair and Resolve to Seek Viṣṇu
विश्वामित्रस्तु शिष्यस्थ गालवस्य तपस्विन: । शुश्रूषया च भक्त्या च प्रीतिमानित्युवाच ह,वे अपने शिष्य तपस्वी गालव मुनिकी सेवा-शुश्रूषा तथा भक्तिसे संतुष्ट होकर बोले --
Viśvāmitras tu śiṣyastha Gālavasya tapasvinaḥ | śuśrūṣayā ca bhaktyā ca prītimān ity uvāca ha ||
วิศวามิตรพอใจในความปรนนิบัติรับใช้และความภักดีของศิษย์ผู้บำเพ็ญตบะนามว่ากาลวะ จึงกล่าวกับเขาด้วยความเอ็นดู
नारद उवाच
The verse underscores that a disciple’s śuśrūṣā (attentive service) and bhakti (devotion) are ethical disciplines that cultivate humility and trust, leading the teacher to become pleased and ready to instruct or bless.
Nārada narrates that the sage Viśvāmitra, satisfied with his ascetic disciple Gālava’s devoted service, addresses him—setting up the next instruction or request within the episode.
