Rāma–Jāmadagnya-janma-kāraṇa and Kṣatra-kṣaya
Paraśurāma’s origins and the depletion/restoration of kṣatriya lineages
ततः शृद्राश्व वैश्याश्व यथा स्वैरप्रचारिण:
tataḥ śūdrāś ca vaiśyāś ca yathā svairapracāriṇaḥ
ต่อมา พวกศูทรและไวศยะก็สัญจรไปตามใจ และดำเนินกิจการงานของตนโดยปราศจากข้อห้ามหรือการกีดกัน
वासुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical contrast between regulated conduct (dharma as disciplined social responsibility) and unrestrained self-will. It suggests that when restraint and rightful governance weaken, people begin to act merely according to personal preference, which can signal broader disorder.
Vāsudeva describes a situation where members of the Vaiśya and Śūdra groups are portrayed as moving about freely, without customary checks. The line functions as a symptom of a larger shift in social discipline and the norms that ordinarily guide conduct.
