कुन्तीनन्दन! ऐसी प्रसिद्धि है कि यह सांख्यशास्त्र ही उस निराकार परमात्माका आकार है। भरतश्रेष्ठ! जितने ज्ञान हैं, वे सब सांख्यकी ही मान्यताका प्रतिपादन करते हैं ।। १०६ || द्विविधानीह भूतानि पृथिव्यां पृथिवीपते । जड़मागमसंज्ञानि जड़म॑ तु विशिष्यते,पृथ्वीनाथ! इस भूतलपर स्थावर और जंगम--दो प्रकारके प्राणी उपलब्ध होते हैं। उनमें भी जंगम ही श्रेष्ठ है

dvividhānīha bhūtāni pṛthivyāṃ pṛthivīpate | jaḍam āgama-saṃjñāni jaṅgamaṃ tu viśiṣyate ||

ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “โอ เจ้าแห่งแผ่นดิน บนโลกนี้ตามคำสืบทอด สัตว์ทั้งหลายมีสองจำพวก คือพวกอยู่นิ่ง (สถาวร) และพวกเคลื่อนไหว (จังคม) ในบรรดานั้น พวกเคลื่อนไหวถือว่าสูงกว่า”
