यदर्थ चाप्यपह्तं येन तच्चैव मन्त्रितम्‌ तस्य तद्‌ विदितं सर्व कारणार्थ च मर्षितम्‌,जिसने जिस उद्देश्यसे उस मांसको चुराया और जिसने ऐसा करनेकी सलाह दी, वह सब कुछ सियारको मालूम हो गया तो भी किसी कारणवश उसने चुपचाप सह लिया

yadarthaṃ cāpyapahṛtaṃ yena taccaiva mantritam | tasya tad viditaṃ sarvaṃ kāraṇārthaṃ ca marṣitam ||

ไม่ว่าเนื้อนั้นถูกขโมยไปด้วยเหตุใด และผู้ใดเป็นผู้ให้คำแนะนำวางแผน—สุนัขจิ้งจอกรู้สิ้นทุกประการ กระนั้นด้วยเหตุบางอย่างเขาก็อดกลั้นไว้โดยสงบ มิได้เอ่ยสิ่งใด
