निध्नन्तो निशितैःशस्त्रै 20 20० पुत्रान सखीनपि | योधा: परिपतन्ति सम य खगा:,जैसे पक्षी मांसके लिये एक-दूसरेपर झपटते हैं, उसी प्रकार वहाँ योद्धा अपने तीखे शस्त्रोंद्वारा भाइयों, मित्रों और पुत्रोंका भी संहार करते हुए एक-दूसरेपर टूटे पड़ते थे
sañjaya uvāca | nighnanto niśitaiḥ śastraiḥ putrān sakhīn api | yodhāḥ paripatanti sma yathā khagāḥ ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—เหล่านักรบใช้ศาสตราคมกริบฟันฟาดแม้บุตรและสหายของตน แล้วกรูกันเข้าหากันดุจฝูงนกโฉบแย่งเนื้อ ในการสังหารนั้น สายเลือดและมิตรภาพถูกกลบด้วยความคลุ้มคลั่งแห่งศึก
