नाशवनुवंस्तदा युद्धे प्रत्युद्यातुं महारथम् । समरांगणमें उनके बाणोंसे आच्छादित हुए पाण्डवोंके महारथी उस युद्धमें महारथी शल्यकी ओर आगे बढ़नेमें समर्थ न हो सके
nāśakan uvaṁs tadā yuddhe pratyudyātuṁ mahāratham | samarāṅgaṇe śalyasya bāṇair ācchāditāḥ pāṇḍavānāṁ mahārathāḥ tasmin yuddhe mahārathi-śalyaṁ prati agrato gantum na śekuḥ |
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—ครั้นแล้วในศึกนั้น เหล่ามหารถีฝ่ายปาณฑพซึ่งถูกศรของศัลยะปกคลุมจากทุกทิศในสนามรบ ก็ไม่อาจรุกไปเผชิญหน้ามหารถีศัลยะได้
