शल्यपर्वणि प्रथमाध्यायः — Karṇa-vadha-anantaraṃ Śalya-niyogaḥ, Saṃjayasya Dhṛtarāṣṭra-nivedanam

तथा चासीनमनघं समनन्‍्तात्‌ परिवारितम्‌

tathā cāsīnam anaghaṃ samantāt parivāritam

และเขาได้เห็นผู้ไร้มลทินนั้นประทับนั่ง ถูกแวดล้อมจากทุกทิศ—ประหนึ่งรูปแห่งความประพฤติอันบริสุทธิ์—ท่ามกลางผู้ติดตามและผู้เฝ้าดู ขณะที่ภารกิจอันโหดหนักของสงครามกดทับอยู่เหนือทุกคน
