अध्याय ९ — दुर्योधनस्य अन्त्यावस्था, विलापः, तथा सौप्तिक-प्रतिवृत्तम्
Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report
एवमेष क्षयो वृत्त: कुरुपाण्डवसेनयो: । घोरो विशसनो रीौद्रो राजन् दुर्मन्त्रिते तव,राजन! इस प्रकार आपकी कुमन्त्रणाके अनुसार कौरवों तथा पाण्डवोंकी सेनाओंका यह घोर एवं भयंकर विनाशकार्य सम्पन्न हुआ है
evam eṣa kṣayo vṛttaḥ kurupāṇḍava-senayoḥ | ghoro viśasano raudro rājan durmantrite tava ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระราชา ความพินาศของกองทัพกุรุและปาณฑพได้บังเกิดขึ้นดังนี้—น่าสยดสยอง อาบด้วยการสังหาร และดุเดือด—อันเป็นผลจากคำปรึกษาอันชั่วร้ายของพระองค์เอง”
