Bhīṣma–Śiśupāla-saṃvādaḥ

नावि नौरिव सम्बद्धा यथान्धो बान्धमन्वियात्‌ | तथाभूता हि कौरव्या येषां भीष्म त्वमग्रणी:,भीष्म! जैसे एक नाव दूसरी नावमें बाँध दी जाय, एक अंधा दूसरे अंधेके पीछे चले; वही दशा इन सब कौरवोंकी है, जिन्हें तुम-जैसा अगुआ मिला है

nāvi naur iva sambaddhā yathāndho bāndham anviyāt | tathābhūtā hi kauravyā yeṣāṃ bhīṣma tvam agraṇīḥ ||

โอ้ภีษมะ! ดุจเรือลำหนึ่งที่เพียงผูกติดกับเรืออีกลำ หรือดุจคนตาบอดที่เดินตามคนตาบอด—ฉันใดก็ฉันนั้น เหล่ากุรุเหล่านี้เป็นเช่นนั้น เพราะท่านเป็นผู้นำหน้าเขาทั้งหลาย
