Kṛṣṇasya Khāṇḍavaprasthāt Dvārakā-prayāṇaḥ | Krishna’s Departure for Dvārakā

क्षिप्रमन्तर्दथे शौरिश्वक्षुषां प्रियदर्शन: । अकामा एव पार्थास्ति गोविन्दगतमानसा:,अत्यन्त प्रेमके कारण उनका मन श्रीकृष्णके साथ ही चला गया। अभी केशवके दर्शनसे पाण्डवोंका मन तृप्त नहीं हुआ था, तभी नयनाभिराम भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्ण सहसा अदृश्य हो गये। पाण्डवोंकी श्रीकृष्णदर्शनविषयक कामना अधूरी ही रह गयी। उन सबका मन भगवान्‌ गोविन्दके साथ ही चला गया

kṣipram antardadhe śauriś cakṣuṣāṃ priyadarśanaḥ | akāmā eva pārthās ti govindagatamānasāḥ ||

ชौริ ผู้เป็นภาพอันเป็นที่รักของสายตาทั้งปวง หายลับไปในพริบตา ความปรารถนาจะได้เห็นของเหล่าปารถะยังไม่สมดังใจ แต่พวกเขากลับประหนึ่งไร้ความใคร่—เพราะจิตได้ตามโกวินทะไปแล้ว

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical-spiritual ideal of single-minded devotion: when the heart is absorbed in the divine (Govinda), ordinary craving subsides. Even an unfulfilled external desire (to keep seeing Kṛṣṇa) is transformed into inward absorption rather than agitation.

Kṛṣṇa (Śauri), delightful to behold, suddenly disappears from the Pāṇḍavas’ sight. Their wish to continue seeing him remains incomplete, yet their minds follow him—indicating intense attachment and reverence as the scene transitions onward.
