Educational Q&A

The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in action: disciplined forces advance under a protector (Bhīṣma), while a righteous warrior (Abhimanyu) meets overwhelming pressure with steadiness (adīnavat), showing that ethical valor is measured by composure and resolve amid fearsome odds.

Bhīṣma-led Kaurava forces surge suddenly toward Arjuna with the force of a flooding river. Abhimanyu (Saubhadra), undaunted, counters by charging into the Dhārtarāṣṭra host using his prowess and strength.
