प्रपतन्तमपश्याम गिरे: शुद्भमिव च्युतम् भीष्मके द्वारा मारे गये नरश्रेष्ठ श्वेतको युद्धस्थलमें हमने देखा। वह टूटकर गिरे हुए पर्वतके समान जान पड़ता था
prapatantam apaśyāma gireḥ śubhram iva cyutam | bhīṣmake dvārā māre gaye naraśreṣṭha śvetako yuddhasthale meṃ hamne dekhā | vaha ṭūṭakara gire hue parvatake samān jān paṛtā thā |
เราทั้งหลายได้เห็นศเวตะผู้ประเสริฐในหมู่มนุษย์ ซึ่งถูกภีษมะสังหาร ล้มลงในสนามรบ เขาดูประหนึ่งยอดเขาขาวสว่างที่หักหลุดจากภูผาแล้วร่วงลงมา
