Bhīṣma’s unmatched momentum and the assault with Śikhaṇḍin in the lead
na cāpi bhīs tvayā kāryā bhīṣmād adya kathaṃcana | aham enaṃ śarais tīkṣṇaiḥ pātayiṣye rathottamāt |
The verse emphasizes steadfast courage and the warrior’s resolve: fear should not govern action when one is committed to a righteous duty in battle, and confidence is grounded in disciplined capability (here, mastery of weapons).
Sanjaya reports to King Dhritarashtra that there is no need to fear Bhishma at this moment; the speaker expresses determination to strike Bhishma with sharp arrows and topple him from his chariot, highlighting the intensity of the battlefield confrontation.
