ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—มหาสมาคมแห่งการเฉลิมฉลองนั้นแลดูเป็นมงคลยิ่งนัก มีผ้าและพวงมาลัยกองเป็นมาก กึกก้องด้วยเสียงวีณา ขลุ่ย และกลองมฤทังคะ และมีอาหารกับเครื่องดื่มอุดมสมบูรณ์ รวมทั้งสุราและไมเรยะ ตลาดและร้านค้าถูกตั้งขึ้น สิ่งของมีให้ตามปรารถนา การสัญจรสะดวกไปทุกทิศ ถึงกระนั้น สำหรับคนยากไร้ คนตาบอด และเด็กกำพร้า ก็มีการแจกจ่ายอาหารและเครื่องดื่มที่ผสมสุราและไมเรยะอย่างต่อเนื่อง
