उत्तङ्कोपाख्यानम् — Maṇi-Kuṇḍala Retrieval and Entry into Nāgaloka

Chapter 57

इमे हि दिव्ये मणिकुण्डले मे देवाश्न यक्षाश्व महर्षयश्न । तैस्तैरुपायैरपहर्तुकामा- श्छिद्रेषु नित्यं परितर्कयन्ति,'मेरे ये दोनों मणिमय कुण्डल दिव्य हैं। देवता, यक्ष और महर्षि लोग नाना प्रकारके उपायोंद्वारा इसे चुरा ले जानेकी इच्छा रखते हैं और इसके लिये सदा छिठ्र ढूँढ़ते रहते हैं

ime hi divye maṇikuṇḍale me devāś ca yakṣāś ca maharṣayaś ca | tais tair upāyair apahartukāmāś chidreṣu nityaṁ paritarkayanti ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ต่างหูประดับมณีสองข้างของเรานี้เป็นของทิพย์แท้. เหล่าเทวะ ยักษ์ และมหาฤษี ปรารถนาจะชิงเอาไป จึงคิดอุบายสารพัด และคอยสอดส่องหา ‘ช่องโหว่’ หรือโอกาสอยู่เสมอ.”
