Chapter 57

निक्षिप्तमेतद्‌ भुवि पन्नगास्तु रत्नं समासाद्य परामृशेयु: । यक्षास्तथोच्छिष्ट धृतं सुराश्च निद्रावशाद्‌ वा परिधर्षयेयु:,“यदि इन कुण्डलोंको पृथ्वीपर रख दिया जाय तो नाग लोग इसे हड़प लेंगे। अपवित्र अवस्थामें इन्हें धारण करनेपर यक्ष उड़ा ले जायँगे और यदि इन्हें पहनकर नींद लेने लग जाय तो देवतालोग बलात्‌ छीन ले जायँगे

nikṣiptam etad bhuvi pannagās tu ratnaṃ samāsādya parāmṛśeyuḥ | yakṣās tathocchiṣṭa-dhṛtaṃ surāś ca nidrāvaśād vā paridharṣayeyuḥ ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “หากวางต่างหูนี้ลงบนพื้นดิน เหล่านาคเมื่อพบอัญมณีก็จะฉกเอาไป. หากสวมในสภาพไม่บริสุทธิ์ ยักษ์จะลักพาไป; และหากสวมแล้วเผลอหลับ แม้เหล่าเทวะก็อาจชิงเอาไปโดยกำลัง.”
