भूतावासो वासुदेव: सर्वासुनिलयोडनल: । दर्पहा दर्पदो दृप्तो दुर्धरोडथापराजित:
bhūtāvāso vāsudevaḥ sarvāsunilayo 'nalaḥ | darpahā darpado dṛpto durdharo 'thāparājitaḥ ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “พระองค์ทรงเป็นที่พำนักแห่งสรรพสัตว์; ทรงเป็นวาสุเทวะ พระผู้เป็นเจ้าอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ผู้แผ่ซ่านและห่อหุ้มโลกทั้งปวง. ทรงเป็นที่รองรับซึ่งชีวิตของสรรพสัตว์อาศัยอยู่ และทรงเป็น ‘อนละ’ ผู้มีฤทธานุภาพหาประมาณมิได้. พระองค์ทรงทำลายความหยิ่งผยองของผู้ดำเนินในทางอธรรม; ทรงประทานความกล้าหาญอันบริสุทธิ์และความยกย่องแก่เหล่าภักตะ; ทรงปีติยินดีเป็นนิตย์ ยากจะหยั่งและยึดไว้ในดวงใจ แต่ก็ไม่อาจมีผู้ใดพิชิตได้.”
