प्रमाणं प्राणनिलय: प्राणभृत् प्राणजीवन: । तत्त्वं तत्त्वविदेकात्मा जन्ममृत्युजरातिग:
bhīṣma uvāca | pramāṇaṁ prāṇanilayaḥ prāṇabhṛt prāṇajīvanaḥ | tattvaṁ tattvavidekātmā janmamṛtyujarātigaḥ ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—พระองค์เป็นมาตรฐานแห่งสัจจะที่ประจักษ์ด้วยพระองค์เอง เป็นที่พำนักแห่งปราณ เป็นผู้ค้ำจุนพลังชีวิตทั้งปวง และทรงยังสรรพสัตว์ให้ดำรงชีพด้วยการเคลื่อนไหวของปราณ พระองค์คือสภาวะจริงแท้เอง เป็นผู้รู้สภาวะจริงแท้ เป็นเอกะไร้ที่สอง และทรงพ้นโดยสิ้นเชิงจากสภาพแห่งกาย คือเกิด ตาย และชรา
