अनादिर्भूभ्भुवो लक्ष्मी: सुवीरो रुचिराड़ूद: । जननो जनजन्मादिर्भीमो भीमपराक्रम:
anādir bhūr-bhuvo lakṣmīḥ suvīro rucirāṅgadaḥ | janano jana-janmādir bhīmo bhīma-parākramaḥ ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—พระองค์ไร้ปฐมกาล เป็นเหตุแรกแห่งเหตุทั้งปวง เป็นที่ค้ำจุนแผ่นดินและโลกทั้งหลาย และเป็นรัศมีศรีที่ทำให้สรรพสิ่งงดงามส่องประกาย พระองค์เป็นวีรบุรุษผู้ประเสริฐ ทรงสวมพาหุรัดอันเรืองรอง เป็นผู้ให้กำเนิดสรรพสัตว์ และเป็นเหตุแรกแห่งการเกิดของผู้เกิดทั้งหลาย สำหรับคนชั่ว พระองค์คือ ‘ภีมะ’—น่าสะพรึง—และเดชานุภาพของพระองค์เองก็น่าหวาดหวั่น ครอบงำความต้านทานทั้งมวล
