ययाति–देवयानी संवादः
Yayāti–Devayānī Dialogue and Śukra’s Consent
इतीदमुक्त्वा स महानुभाव- स्तपोनिधीनां निधिरप्रमेय: । तान् दानवान् दैवविमूढबुद्धी - निदं समाहूय वचो<भ्युवाच,ऐसा कहकर तपस्याकी निधियोंकी निधि, अप्रमेय शक्तिशाली महानुभाव शुक्राचार्यने दैवने जिनकी बुद्धिको मोहित कर दिया था उन दानवोंको बुलाया और इस प्रकार कहा --
itīdam uktvā sa mahānubhāvas tapo-nidhīnāṁ nidhir aprameyaḥ | tān dānavān daiva-vimūḍha-buddhīn idaṁ samāhūya vaco 'bhyuvāca ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า— ครั้นกล่าวดังนั้นแล้ว ศุกฺราจารย์ผู้ทรงเกียรติ ผู้มีฤทธิ์อันประมาณมิได้ ดุจคลังแห่งคลังตบะ ได้เรียกเหล่าทานวะผู้มีปัญญาถูกชะตากรรมลวงให้หลงมัวมา แล้วกล่าวแก่พวกเขาดังนี้
