Śakuntalā-Janma-Nāmakaraṇa (Birth and Naming of Śakuntalā) | शकुन्तला-जन्म-नामकरणम्

रतायाश्चाप्यह: पुत्र: शाण्डिल्याश्व॒ हुताशन: । प्रत्यूषश्च प्रभासश्न प्रभाताया: सुतौ स्मृतो,धर और ब्रह्नवेत्ता ध्रुव धूम्राके पुत्र हैं। चन्द्रमा मनस्विनीके और अनिल श्वासाके पुत्र हैं। अह रताके और अनल शाण्डिलीके पुत्र हैं तथा प्रत्यूष और प्रभास ये दोनों प्रभाताके पुत्र बताये गये हैं

ratāyāś cāpy ahaḥ putraḥ śāṇḍilyāś ca hutāśanaḥ | pratyūṣaś ca prabhāsaś ca prabhātāyāḥ sutau smṛtau ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—อหะ (กลางวัน) กล่าวกันว่าเป็นโอรสของรตา; หุตาศนะ (อัคนี) เป็นโอรสของศาณฑิลี; และประตยูษะกับประภาสะ—ทั้งสองนี้เป็นโอรสของประภาตา ตามที่จดจำสืบมา
